I am a trained boxer(3 years) and had a confrontation with chapris. Watching out for the shoulder and your back and when someone tries to slap then countering with a left hook to ribs can put these chapris in line!

TIL Paul Stanley (lead singer for the rock group KISS) cannot hear out of his right ear. His ear was misshapen from a birth defect called microtia. In 1982 he had reconstructive surgery and his new ear was formed from cartilage from one of his ribs, with skin grafts put over it.

TIL Moe Howard of The Three Stooges once broke three ribs filming a pratfall. Dazed, he managed to pick himself up off the ground and slap Curly in the face before passing out. The footage ended up being used in the finished short.

TIL: In 1999 while Stephen King walking on the side of a road in North Lovell, he was hit by a van that left him in a ditch with broken bones, ribs, a punctured lung, and he almost died. After he healed he bought the van that almost killed him, and the driver died on kings birthday one year later.

TIL when Saint Philip Neri’s body was examined after he died, two of his ribs were found broken; this was attributed at the time to a miraculous expansion of his heart while praying. However, Pope Benedict XIV later stated that Philip’s enlarged heart was actually caused by an aneurism.
