In 1987 the Moroccan government completed a 2700km sand wall to keep out guerilla fighters from the Polisario front, a Western Saharan independence movement. 1 Comment TIL there are various memorials placed throughout the Saharan Desert which are dedicated to the late Egyptian actor Samir Lama.
