TIL that the song “Tubular Bells” – most famous for being the theme to “The Exorcist”, was written and recorded by a 19 year-old Mike Oldfield in 1973 who played almost entirely all the instruments on the song. The full song is over twenty minutes long, and is featured on an album of the same name.

TIL that Sonny Curtis, who wrote the Mary Tyler Moore theme song “Love is All Around,” also wrote “I Fought the Law.” He & Buddy Holly performed together – even opening for Elvis – as teens until Holly formed the Crickets. Curtis joined the Crickets after Holly died. They recorded “IFTL” in 1960.
