TIL that Buddy Guy, the blues guitarist that influenced generations of other guitarists including Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff Beck, Santana, and John Mayer, is still alive at 86 and even has a worldwide tour this year.

TIL the Wheeling, West Virginia Suspension Bridge over the Ohio River was built in 1851 to accommodate horse and buggy crossings. For almost 170 years is was able to handle the changing vehicle traffic until a tour bus in 2019 ignored multiple warnings and got stuck under a height barrier.

TIL shortly after the rock band Great White began performing in 2003 at The Station in Rhode Island, their tour manager set off pyrotechnics whose sparks ignited flammable acoustic foam. Within six minutes of the ignition, the entire building was engulfed in flames—100 attendees died.

TIL of the Garage Barrage Tour by Metallica. In 1998, to promote their covers album “Garage, Inc.,” the band performed five shows where they only played cover songs. Metallica songs were instead performed by the opening act: a Metallica tribute band called Battery.
