TIL that the longest wedding veil ever was longer than 63 football fields! It was worn by a woman named Maria Paraskeva from Cyprus in 2018 and measured 22,843 feet and 2.11 inches long. The veil required a team of 20 people to carry it and took more than a year to create.

TIL that for weddings, it’s customary for the groom not to see his bride in her dress before the wedding, since it is considered “bad luck”. This goes back to the days of arranged marriages, where both parties did not even meet each other beforehand; an ugly woman might cause the groom to back out.
