TIL about Ralph C Smith, the US’ last surviving WWII General, who passed away in 1998 aged 104. Not only was he the 13th person to receive a pilot’s license, he was also instructed by Orville Wright.

He passed away 25 years ago today, in fact – 21st January 1998.
Didn’t read the wiki but hope he was properly honored.
Well it would have been more interesting if he was trained to fly by orville redenbacher
