I mean, if you can see the sun, what do you need a compass for?
I mean you’re right, technically analog watches can be used as a compass. But there’s a whole technique to this. This picture does not explain it so well. The calculation depends on which hemisphere you are currently in and also the current time, if it’s before or after 12:00PM.
Just remember the sun always sets in the East and rises in the north.
