Expensive because it’s dangerous and risks more dead bodies
Many of them serve as points of reference on the trails to help other climbers keep on track. That’s quite eerie but also feels like they’ve reached some sort of immortality by becoming part of the mountain.
Tell them what their dads think of them. That always brings me down.
I always thought the solution is to ask volunteers to do a small part of the task. Say part one bring a body bag, part two cover the body. Part three move the body 100 m, etc.
I believe a team of Sherpas recently removed some of the bodies and many of the empty oxygen bottles that littered the mountain
It’s also extremely littered with O2 tanks left behind by climbers.
Makes sense, its expensive to get them up there too.
And due to the conditions, those bodies will never decompose.
