I wouldn’t have guessed bacon is a highly processed food. Isn’t it a slab cut off a pig?
I tend to think of processed foods as like Doritos, something that only can be made in a factory, not a farm.
I don’t understand how any of this works.
I’ve never heard this in my life, who’d believe that about overcooked food?

I am not sure if you are purposefully misrepresenting this or not, but there is a large growing body of research that indicates that overcooking / burning food (most specifically meat, and likely particularly red meat – which are ‘foods’) can absolutely, “lead to the formation of heterocyclic amines (HCAs), carcinogens that may cause cancer” (FROM YOUR OWN ARTICLE).
I also question your overall sources and would be interested in looking deeper at their biases as they are not the originators of the research, but rather 3rd party interpreters of it.
Here are some (I would argue more legit resources that put it into a better perspective, particularly around charred meat and HCAs. BTW – When you say “FOOD” you’re purposefully not including the research specifically around meat, particularly red meat.

Not to be a stickler but ‘on the contrary’ doesn’t work here. The ‘contrary’ would be something along the lines of burnt foods preventing cancer
I never heard this in my life before today. Who thinks eating burnt food gives them cancer? Come on now.
Turns out, nobody really don’t has a fucking clue about how most of the specifics of most of our dietary functions work and every person is different in how their body reacts to different things
