TIL in 2008 Universal Studios had a vault fire that destroyed around 50,000 digital film archive and between 118000 and 175000 audio master tapes. Artist affected include Duke Ellington, Tupac and the Banana Splits

Nitrate-base film is highly flammable, can self-ignite at ambient temperatures around 100 degrees F, and cannot be extinguished once ignited.
Immeasurable cultural loss, impossible to measure its value, all because some dude applying roofing shingles took an early break.
