TIL On Dec 28, 2016, the day after Carrie Fisher’s death, her mother, Debbie Reynolds, had a stroke at the home of her son, Todd, where the family was planning Fisher’s funeral, she died later that day. Reynolds had said, “I want to be with Carrie” immediately before she had the stroke.

I think this is a thing, where the stress of a death can trigger a medical issue with family members. Especially at risk family members. My uncle died young of cancer. A few days later, his mother, my grandmother, had a heart attack and died. We ended up having to plan two funerals. Years later, my dad was diagnosed with serious lung cancer. While he was in the hospital and things weren’t looking good, his sister had a heart attack and died. Thankfully dad beat the cancer and ended up living a few more years.
