The male salmon slides up next to the female, and as she lays her eggs, he starts to quiver and ejaculates a huge load of semen over them to fertilize the eggs. Then he rolls over and dies. I tell ya, that has got to be the MOST amazing orgasm in the animal world.

when it’s mating season, here in BC, you can always find a bunch of dead salmon on river banks with their eyes gauged out for some strange reason. Super freaky.
Is that what happens to their jaws, it’s rotting away? Most of the time you see salmon they look like normal fish. Then when spawning, they get that hook-jaw look.
