“Healthy at any size” crowd not sure how to respond to this news
This doesn’t just apply to Japanese men. Morbidly obese men die 20 years before reaching life expectancy anywhere in the world.
You mean that the people who have a daily caloric intake of a small family die earlier than normal? Shocker.
They are hardly ‘average Japanese men’ though are they!
Try comparing them to other men around the same weight.
The average Japanese man is less than 150 lb. The average sumo wrestler is about 350 lb. I’m guessing there’s some connection there.
55 is indeed 20 years short of the average for Japanese males, and then 9 more. On average a Japanese male can expect to live a little over 84 years.
Most athletes ruin their bodies before 30. This is just one of the sports where the strain impacts your heart and blood pressure, too.
