TIL that a coal mine fire has been burning under the town of Centralia, PA since 1962. The place is now a ghost town.

Actually not a ghost town per se. They’re are a few families that still live there! I actually grew up and lived in a town a few miles from here up until a year ago. Did you know that Silent Hill was based on this town?

It’s a super cool and creepy spot to visit. We called it OG Silent Hill when we went.

Watched a documentary on this place. Neat story. Andracite coal or something. Burns super hot compared to normal coal.
