  1. Interestingly enough, Protestant reformer Martin Luther was born Martin Luder. The Greek root of his Latin based name, Eleutherius, which he actually switched to for a while, better rhymes with the ‘ooth’ sound. Eventually, though, he shortened it to how history remembers him… Luther.
