TIL that on the islands of Jersey and Guernsey, an individual can fall to their knees and cry “Haro! Haro! Haro! À l’aide, mon Prince, on me fait tort” if they feel they are being wronged. Under an ancient legal injunction, the wrongdoer must cease the activity until the case can be heard in court.

The _clameur de haro_ isn’t used very often and it can be overruled by the courts, but it was last successfully raised in 2016 [to block someone from removing a derelict Kia Sportage from a driveway.] (https://guernseypress.com/news/2016/12/15/man-raises-clameur-de-haro-to-stop-planners/)
Grouped as les Iles de Karen, I believe.
Hint … Wrongdoers by definition do not adhere to the law, so regardless of if you fall to your knees and utter whatever magical incantation you want, it will do nothing to save you.
