TIL that Shakespeare based his play “Romeo and Juliet” (1597) on “The Tragicall Historye of Romeus and Juliet” (1562), an English translation of the Italian original: “Young Romeus climbs fair Juliet’s bower by night. Three months he doth enjoy his chief delight.”
