TIL that the video game Star Citizen has been in development since 2013 and has received over half a BILLION dollars in funding and it still hasn’t been released

I didn’t know the US government was developing video games?
And you can have a shitton of fun playing the game. There are hours of content, missions, planets etc. And the tech is impressive and beautifull. Even now it does things many other games just cannot do.
And it’s all seamless.
I got my money’s worth, already.
The really interesting thing is that someone today found out about the game as well, and then *went and donated*.
Barnum’s quote remains true, still suckers born every day.
Kickstarting Star Citizen was a good investment for me.
It compelled me to also buy a good throttle-and-stick setup that I use with a lot of enjoyment when I play Elite Dangerous.
It seems like every branch of politics and entertainment now automatically has a long-con scam attached to it like a slimy lamprey.
LOL after 10 years and $500,000,000 it’s still only in **alpha** development stage, planned release if backers are lucky is 2027.
