My wife tells me 3″ is plenty
At one point, in the 1800s I think, the most accurate measurement for it was exactly 29,000 feet. They didn’t want people to assume they rounded up so they published it at 29,002 feet. At the time the master surveyor was jokingly known as the first person to put two feet on Mt Everest
