TIL the 2004 animated series Peep and the Big Wide World was based on a 1988 Nation Film Board of Canada animated short film of the same name, which in itself was based on a 1962 NFB animated short film called The Peep Show, all made by the late Kaj Pindal

2. The NFB is a treasure.

   I was lucky enough to study this fellow in film school:

   McLaren was a pioneer – in animation, in graphical sound (he etched music onto the side of the celluloid), and in step-and-repeat filming (see Pas de Deux – oh!).

3. I love the NFB. I especially loved it as a kid (many decades ago).
