TIL the first movie about the Titanic was released just 29 days after the sinking. It was written by and starred a survivor, who had a mental breakdown after filming. The film was destroyed in a fire and only a few stills survive

I learned on r/todayilearned that most old films were destroyed in fires after being made out of extremely flammable materials.
