“In the interest of historical accuracy, I will play Nazi characters as the complete morons I saw them being during my service”
Also Sgt. Schultz was played by an Austrian Jewish actor.
I don’t pity the fool
And they always looked the fool. Colonel Klink came across as incompetent but not evil (as much as any Nazi can be deemed not evil) but to be fair I was a child watching it.
He was perfect in that role, one of the great TV characters of all time.
He was once on The Simpsons
He was great in Judgment at Nuremberg
Colonel Klink was notoriously bad at playing the violin, but Werner Klemperer was actually an accomplished violinist, and often played for the cast and crew during dull moments.
