The matrix comes to mind. The first movie was good, but it quickly fell off the cliff.
Birth of a Nation. Good name, but racist as fuck movie. Edit (1915) version.
The Giver. Just watched it last night and I’m extremely disappointed especially with the ending. How hard would it have been for them to add 10 more minutes to the ending of the movie?
The Purge. Which is funny because they have made like 6 of them and never gotten it right
I was just thinking about this last night. *Seeking a Friend for the End of the World* had potential to be such a wonderful movie; instead, it was mediocre dreck. It had potential to be so, so much better.
Bright. Should have focused on the world instead of being a buddy cop drama limited to LA.
Basically any sci-fi movie with a great premise that solely focuses on some fuckin romance instead of the amazing world building.

League of Extraordinary gentleman. Also Cowboys VS Aliens. That one stung because, for a very long time, I have wanted a real adaptation of War of the Worlds. As in set in the original time period. So with cowboys vs aliens I figured good close enough
