Angry yelling & slamming things like doors & cupboards.
My ringtone
That beeeeeeep noise in my ear
Tornado sirens.
Ice cream truck in the middle of the night.
The iPhone alarm tone
Honestly everything. I have a problem with sensory overload
yelling
Complete silence will give you more anxiety than any sound in my opinion
sounds of screeching babies or kids fighting
clocks ticking
i donât remember much of anything from my childhood and i donât want to, but hearing clocks tick just brings back how bad we had it, where youâd hear nothing but a clock ticking
Wheels skidding in the snow
My alarm clock.
This is an odd one, but playing a lot of the old video games I loved as a kid and hearing their music. I live in a pal territory, so a lot of the games back when played slightly slower. When revisiting them in bundle collections and re-releases the music is faster than I’m used to, and it really messes with me.
Few sounds are more anxiety inducing than any weird sound in your car when you have no money.
Balloons popping
Loud bass coming to your appartment from outside in the night. Earplugs don’t help at all and it’s very difficult to get sleep.
The sound of the in-laws car pulling up to our house
Leaking water
The satellite phone sound from Jurrasic Park
Flying insects that buzz & car horns
The sound of Styrofoam rubbing on itself
Wet squeaky shoes
Someone readying a gun to shoot behind me.
Oohh yeah
You know those pictures that change as you look from different angles? Well the sound that it makes when you scratch it
Slowly ripping cotton balls apart. That noise has bothered me ever since I was a kid.
Licking sounds, like a dog licking. Makes my skin crawl
Dentist drill
Vacuum cleaner, my abusive dad was an obsessive cleaner. I can’t stand the sound of Vacuum cleaners.
probably like an insect or bug sound
Teeth grinding in sleep
Hydro flasks slamming on the desks and floors. Literally next to gun shots- I jump!
The Microsoft Teams ringtone, sometimes a commercial comes on with it and for a few seconds I feel as though I screwed something up and someone is calling to tell me
Metal utensils/tongs on a non-stick pan
People eating
Alarm clocks in movies and TV. Also, real alarm clocks.
The cry of a baby thatâs less than a month or two old.
My son was an inconsolable baby and hearing a young baby cry, especially if it goes on for a bit, takes me right back to that sleep deprived, endless nightmare of new parenthood.
Wind chimes
Something drops, than I turn around, but there’s nobody, and also I see nothing on the ground
The emergency alert tone
Train wheels screeching on the tracks.
Aeroplane toilets flushing. Far too loud and intense. Still have to cover my ears as an adult.
Smoke detector beeps. I have a cousin that was living with my family and he tried to burn down our house when we were asleep. However, he chickened put after lighting the fire and decided to wake everyone up. That happened years ago and I still have issues with sleeping at night as a result. Those beeps through ne into a panic.
When my wife says âwe need to talkâ or âI have a question I need to ask youâ.
Microsoft Teams call / message tone
The “ding” of the ordering system for Toast. I’ll start getting anxious at random restaurants if we sit too close to the kitchen within earshot of it.
All of them
