TIL a feral cat with ear-tip (part of their ear is missing) means they’ve been caught, treated, neutered, and released

I’ve got one right next to me right now. Sweet little cat that adopted us. Has the tip of an ear missing. I always figured she was fixed because she’s never gone in heat.
TNR programs will frequently run yearly spay/neuter clinics for cats that is low cost and requires the cats ears to be tipped “just in case”. I got all 3 of my cats spayed/neutered that way for only $90 and the missing ear tip doesn’t affect them at all.
Or they got in a fight with another cat. Lol
Hmmmm usually it just means they been fighting. We’ve never had a Tom come through our farm that had both its ears
Should of been put down when they had it.
Or where I live, they lost it to frostbite.
