TIL about 16-year-old Sybil Ludington. On the night of April 26, 1777 she rode 40 miles to warn 400 patriots that British troops were coming. Like Paul Revere, Ludington’s message helped them prepare for battle. Ludington was less than half Revere’s age and rode twice as far to bring the message.
