TIL about a Turkish film made in 1974 called “Garip Kuş.” It was dubbed in English in Ireland and somehow made its way to Papua New Guinea by the name of “Bobby Teardrops,” where it has become hugely popular among diverse groups of women. Its effect on feminism was discussed in an academic paper.
