  1. You might want to add that this was done under constant medical supervision. We wouldn’t want anyone here fasting for over a year on their own.

  2. Yes, that’s how the body works.

    If it gets all the nutrients and vitamins it needs, it burns fat for energy, and then muscle and then whatever’s left.
