TIL about Kati Thanda–Lake Eyre, Australia’s largest lake when full. An endorheic lake, Kati Thanda’s level is dependent on the seasonal monsoons and mostly dries up during the dry season.

Also, it can remain empty for years and when it does flood. It becomes alive with birds and insects and frogs etc. Some things will hibernate waiting for each flood period.
Birds obviously fly there…
