  1. I think it is partially because when the reunification happened, everything east was labeled bad and thrown away, and replaced with west. But the fact is, there were some good things happening in the east. Like child care and worker’s rights for example. But to each their own.

  2. It’s real, I feel it too. There was a great sense of community and social security in the old socialist countries. That just does not exist here in the US. Individualism and competitiveness is celebrated instead of community and team work.

  3. It can be dangerous! I have seen people in Baltics being nostalgic to Soviet Union and its usually the people who never experienced life under communism! Young people
