The Dr Oz model of wealth creation.
After discovering these gals I gaffed a [bottle of their hair tonic](https://i.imgur.com/CeAMuyP.jpeg) using an actual antique bottle (of *Groves Tasteless Chill Tonic*) that I made a label for by copying pictures of the real thing. The atlas obscura article I link claimed a number of different ingredients which are what was advertised at the time but according to Wikipedia a period analysis of the tonic determined that it was mostly just a mix of witch-hazel and bay rum so maybe I’ll make a batch and fill the bottle.
I’m a big fan of sideshow history as well as patent medicine so this was a neat aligning of interests.
