  1. Because the theatrical release was fucking awful and full of studio interference. It wasn’t until later with the director and final cuts it was actually good.

  2. Also, Scott poured his heart and soul into the movie. He learned the hard way how to battle perfectionism and subsequently became one of the most organized and efficient directors in Hollywood.
