From the article:
“According to the U.S. Wind Turbine Database, the **mean turbine capacity is 1.67 megawatts (MW)**. At a 33% capacity factor, an average turbine generates over **402,000 kWh per month**. In other words, this is **enough energy to power 460 average US homes every month**”.
If they put solar panels on the blades how much would it generate?
Enough to power 26 million homes with the total of turbines in the U.S..
I won’t say it’s misleading, but it just throws out a number and mathematically compares it to the power needs of homes. It doesn’t take into account time, or consistency of power. A typical home has certain power needs at certain times, and the needs change over the course of a year. Do wind turbines take that into account?

The “every month” isn’t needed
But the cost makes them unsustainable. Too expensive to build, too expensive to maintain.
