TIL Britain invaded and occupied Iceland during most of the Second World War as a preventative measure against a potential Nazi invasion. While it likely was a net positive economically, it’s legacy is still given a mixed reception.

  1. Wow, I thought I knew quite a bit about WWII history but I never heard about this.

    I guess it makes sense after reading the article. I guess I would have assumed Iceland would have considered itself at war with Germany when they invaded Denmark but since Denmark fell in one day maybe it was pointless.
