TIL: Chickens will sometimes eat their own eggs and have to be actively discouraged from this behaviour, before they acquire a “taste” for them.

I don’t blame them, eggs are delicious
Wait until you discover *chicken glasses*.
They will also peck a flock member to death if they decide they don’t like her anymore.
They can also eat chicken meat without many consequences. Which is fairly distressing all things considered.
As long as pigs don’t acquire a taste for bacon…
