The most disingenuous line from the whole piece
>Cineplex declined an interview request. In a statement, a spokesperson said: “Ultimately, it is up to film distributors where they play their movies.”
Ya of course it’s up to distributors. If they want it to be the last film they ever sell to cineplex they’ll go ahead and let it run at the Rio. But if they’re ever interested in having a film on our screens again they know the rules. But hey man it’s their call.
That’s like saying suicide is always a choice available to everyone.
Big Theater, man. They control everything.
I love landmark theatres. Better seats, better prices. Less crowded too. My wife and i never go to cineplex anymore, even though its closer to our house.
Living in Toronto there’s theatres all over downtown that are $8 a ticket and popcorn is half the price of cineplex
Only reason to go there is for a good imax movie once every two years
I would ask how this is legal but I’m sure I already know.
What Cineplex is doing, they could be inviting unsavory Anti-Trust lawsuits.
