TIL Geir Helgemo, the world’s #1 Bridge player of 2018, had all his credentials taken away after it was revealed that he had used two drugs to increase his testosterone even though performance enhancers wouldn’t had effected his ability to play the card game.

I’m going to be that pedantic person, but … “it wouldn’t have affected his ability…”
Effect is a noun, affect is a verb. As in, “Many drugs have unexpected side effects on the body, but not all drugs affect the body adversely.”
