TIL Green Boots is the name given to the unidentified body of a climber that became a landmark on the main Northeast ridge route of Mount Everest. The body has not been officially identified, but he is believed to be Tsewang Paljor, an Indian climber who died on Everest in 1996.

  1. There are many corpses across Mount Everest. I believe Green Boots is used as a marker to show the way. Imagine dying there and that’s it. There forever and seen by anyone else that passes. Very sad.

  2. I will never understand the whole Mount Everest tourism thing, filing up past all the corpses. If it was a dystopian YA novel I would think that’s unrealistic.
