TIL Honda stole 1950’s patented clutchless transmission from Czechoslovakia bike company Jawa and used it in 1958 Honda Cub – #1 worldwide bestseller all time. Dispute settled personally by Soichiro Honda – signed deal and from 1964 Honda Corp. pays Jawa fee from each sold Cub w/ this transmission.
