TIL humans only perceive 0.0035% of the electromagnetic spectrum w our eyes. This 0.0035% is known as visible light and comprises everything the human eye alone can detect in the universe.

Who decided how much the “whole” EM spectrum is for the calculation of 0.0035%? At which frequency does the spectrum end?
Wonder if aliens are invisible cause they are not made of carbon and are not in the visible light spectrum.
I found contradiractory elements, can you help me : is the ems infinite or not ?
And if not, why it’s not ? (I guess bc it’s related to physical objects and speed of light).
Thanks by advance.
*By “human eye alone” I do not mean only the human eye can detect, I mean the human eye can detect by itself wo tools.
I often think about how cool it must be so see UV like some animals do. Bird feathers under ultraviolet is so cool.
And consider how much of our lives is dependent on that 0.0035%. Fucking wild!
So that’s about 4 in 100k or 1 for every 29k.
I always wondered how much more I miss by being red/green colorblind.
I’m reasonably sure the EM spectrum is infinite
It’s amazing how many different things [electromagnetic radiation](https://imagine.gsfc.nasa.gov/science/toolbox/emspectrum1.html) is.
