Another tidbit: The first release of Street Survivors cover art features flames.
The subsequent releases did not.
Wow, how have I never heard of this before? And these are my favorite musicians, other than Stevie Ray Vaughn, Buddy Holly, Aaliyah and Jim Croce.
They didn’t disband for long. They toured for a long time with other Van Zants and other members
Chris Gaines lived though fortunately
Musicians should never get into aircraft with other musicians.
Aerosmith passed on the plane prior to skynyrd as their tech thought it was a death trap
The last place they played was at the Greenville Memorial Auditorium in Greenville, South Carolina. I saw the re-formed band play in that same city around 2006 or 2007. It was an interesting experience, I remember Johnny Van Zant talking about the crash, that concert, his brother, and playing again in Greenville.
I learned of it from Con Air.
I think that this was the first concert i paid an admission to, 1972 or 73, at Kennesaw Jr. College , Kennesaw, Ga. $3.00 open seating. Was a great show.
Their specially was clearly street survival not areal survival.
