TIL in the 1950s Rebecca Webb Carranza owned a tortilla factory that sometimes made misshappen tortillas. Instead of throwing them out she cut them into triangles, fried them, and sold bags of them in the Mexican Deli. She’s credited for introducing tortilla chip into modern food culture.
