TIL it’s unlikely adult birds have abandoned the bird nest with eggs. Many birds don’t start incubating until the last egg is laid, which is why you might not see the parents for some time.

  1. I guess I’ve never really thought about it. Like if I saw a nest with eggs in it I think I’d just assume the bird is out flying or eating trash. You know, bird stuff

  2. I guess it’s time for a poll: when referring to eggs, is the passive voice past tense of “lay” supposed to be “laid” or “lain”?
