TIL Joe Dougherty, the original voice of Porky Pig, also had a severe stutter. He was ultimately fired because of this, and replaced by Mel Blanc, who voiced the character for over 50 years.

For instance Goofy was a Merrie Melodies character before being taken by Disney.
