TIL Jonah Hill was only paid $60,000 to appear in The Wolf of Wall Street, with the studio using his desire to work with Martin Scorsese as leverage to pay him the lowest fee possible. Whereas Leonard DiCaprio, who also produced the film, was paid $10m.

  1. This is why you keep your emotions to yourself. If he wouldn’t have said anything about wanting to work with that man then he could have gotten paid

  2. Why do titles now have be designed to generate such outrage. Movies have budgets just like any other projects. It’s entirely likely johan hills role was not budgeted for an A/B list actor and therefore the salary reflects.

    Johan hill is worth $50 mm. He is quoted in the article as saying:

    “I would sell my house and give him all my money to work for him,” meaning director Scorsese.

    Somethings are more important in life than money. This was clearly a passion project. Stop trying to make it sound like he was robbed.
