TIL Katherine of Aragon, Henry VIII first wife, gave birth to three male heirs. In 1511, she gave birth to Henry; the child only lived for 52 days . Her pregnancies in 1513 and 1514 were recorded as stillborn boys. Her only child to reach adulthood was Queen Mary.

Kathrine had such a sad life. She was so smart and educated and was active queen.
Couldn’t possibly be because they were third cousins, once removed.. and their entire family tree is more like a family kudzu vine.
And the next wife, Anne Boleyn, had three miscarriages of (probable) males, too.
Given the six wives and countless mistresses, Henry VIII had an insanely weak outcome on living children.
Two daughters (both childless), one illegitimate son (childless), one legitimate son (dead age 15, childless).
As far as we know, no grandchildren.
That Queen Mary was Bloody Mary.
