TIL Luke Skywalker’s surname was originally “Starkiller” when Star Wars began filming. Hamill used this name in one scene but his mouth was obscured by a stormtrooper helmet and it was later dubbed over. Lucas changed the name because of “unpleasant connotations” with Charles Manson.

Starkiller Starlord Star Wars.. hmm
Starkiller ended up being the name of the protagonist in the game series Star Wars: Force Unleashed if I remember correctly.
Because of “unpleasant connotations” with Charles Manson, huh? Not because “Starkiller” sounds corny af?
