TIL megapodes hatch with open eyes, bodily coordination and strength, full wing feathers, and downy body feathers, and are able to run, pursue prey, and in some species, fly on the same day they hatch.

Oh wow, I’ve never heard of this animal.
Sounds like a chicken that maintains your compost heap instead of wrecking it, and a pretty tail too, awesome.
Interesting fact – I learned recently that our Traditional Custodians refused to eat these because they literally taste like crap.
