TIL Nearly all chewing gum on the market is made with plastic as part of the “gum base” ingredient. In the U.S., companies are not required to disclose to consumers what makes up their gum base. Only a few niche brands exist that offer plastic-free gum.

Yep. It should also be noted that this hasn’t really caused any problems, and only sounds scary if you make it sound scary.
