TIL of Jackson C. Frank, a folk singer who released just one album in 1965. His life was a tragedy: a boiler explosion at school killed 15 of his classmates and severely burned him. Later, his son died of cystic fibrosis. Then, while homeless, his eye was shot out in a random attack.

Blues Run The Game is one of my favorites and a fitting song for his sad story. Laura Marling does a beautiful cover of it.
Due to a hospital mix up, his left arm was amputated, infected with syphilis and then reattached.
Lives just not fair to some people, other circumstances would have prob since this guy have a nice well made life, his voice was friendly and crisp. May he rest in peace.
The blues are all the same
You can’t sing the blues if you’ve had an easy life.
Frank wrote a song called [Marlene](https://www.wkbw.com/longform/a-forgotten-buffalo-legend-the-jackson-c-frank-story) about the boiler explosion. Among those who were killed was his first girlfriend, Marlene Dupont.
He was later diagnosed with [schizophrenia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jackson_C._Frank) and wound up penniless and homeless.
Although his lone album did not sell well, his songs have been sampled by many more well-known artists, including Simon & Garfunkel (Paul Simon produced his album), John Mayer, and Daft Punk.
His nickname was “Lucky”
Final destination
That’s a life more befitting of a Blues singer than a Folk singer.
Fuck CF. What a horrible disease…
